Veiled Virtues

This work is a bit of a paranormal mystery and a romantic fantasy all rolled into one.  Set in the modern day world, this young adult novel tells the story of how an event from the distant past sudenly takes over a young woman's life. 

Upon graduating from high school, American Paige Stewart travels to Newbury, England, to house sit for six weeks.  During her stay, she meets Nathaniel Brightmore, a young, handsome shopkeeper who owns a store in town that sells an eclectic mix of items, including crystals, tarot cards,  Wiccan items and books on paranormal and extrasensory phenomena.  The word around town is that Nathaniel is not as angelic as he looks, and the more macabre items in the shop, like pentagrams, swords and books on Satanism and demons, seem to support the notion.

Paige's initial encounters with Nathaniel raise suspicion that he is not what his beautiful outward appearance may suggest.  The two seem to run into each other a little too often for it to be a mere coincidence, and Paige wonders what dark side Nathaniel may be harboring.  Weird things begin happening: odd paranormal occurences, old scars spontaneously bleeding, unexplained visions...  Unbeknownst to Paige, she is being hotly pursued by ruthless members of the Brotherhood of Cerberus.  Thanksfully, someone has her back.  Read Veiled Virtues to find out why modern day knights still exist and how the Rosetta Guard becomes pivotal in Paige's life.
